The street lamp in the background caught my eye and I decided to try to duplicate it. While I was working on it, it began to look more and more like the prototypical Pilgrim's hat, so I added a 'belt' and buckle to complete the idea. The turkey and leaves followed the seasonal theme -- the turkey began as a stock photo which I then simplified with the smart and surface blurs, duplicated and reduced to edges and then painted the color back in. The leaves began as a custom shape which I warped and then made into a brush. There are three layers of leaves, each with a drop shadow layer style.
